Historical and Collectible Significance:

The Order of Nichan Iftikhar was instituted in 1835 by the Bey of Tunis and awarded for distinguished civil and military service.

The Commander grade was worn around the neck and represented an important class within the order.

Even in worn condition, original Tunisian orders remain desirable among collectors of North African and Ottoman-influenced decorations.
